If you can't say something nice,....
Sep. 18th, 2013 08:55 pmI have nothing good to say about today; it's been a clusterf of epic proportions. So instead I'll report on four nice things from yesterday:)
* The spray hose on our kitchen sink is leaking. The small hardware store that installed it didn't have one in stock, but offered to order one. For some reason, I felt like giving it one more shot, so I headed over to the Big Orange Box a few blocks away from my office. They were out, too, but Orange Apron Guy filled me in on the secret: Just call Delta; they'll replace it for free and ship it in 2-3 days.
Which, per a call to them, they will exactly do:)

* After getting this news, but before confirming it, I had to pick up some stuff from a court in Lackawanna. Doing so was uneventful, but as I headed back to my car, a little old lady in a walker was trying to navigate her way back out through the lobby and down the non-rampy stairs.
I hepped. I pretty much had to, since she was wearing an orange wool hat a la Jayne, the Man they call Jayne.....
----
* Next it was back to my northerly neighborhood, where I mailed off a Priority Mail package containing our Blu-Ray copy of Star Trek:Into Darkness to a Facebook friend. Marc is from my home town, and I met him because he's friends with one of my oldest friends from elementary-to-high-school, but I don't remember him personally. Still, he was the first to claim the prize, and so he got it- but he then asked,
Are you a jazz fan? If so, send me your address too (I've manufactured CDs for JAZZIZ Magazine for over 20 years. I'll send a bunch).
Do fish have lips? Of course we love jazzy thingzy- and so by being kind, I got kindness back- and that's always a good thing:)
----
* Late in the day, I found another friend's missives among the ones that my fellow progressive Methodists are sending to our Bishop. Mine, from last week, was the ninth; Corey's was the 47th:)
That was enough to make a movement, and so I've memorialized it as such. If you're on LJ and want to follow the stories of gays and allies who are hoping to influence Bishop Mark's decision, click this feed link-letterstobishop
- and then click the "add friend" link in the corner. You'll get quite a backlog the first day, but then it'll settle down to the daily summary after that.

It's now (much) later than when I started this post, when today seemed utterly hideous. Ultimately, it wasn't THAT bad. Yesterday's good beat today's bad in many respects. Here's hoping tomorrow tops them both:)
