Time for the First World Problem Bitch of the Day:

I'm now well into figuring out how to use Godot the Tablet, and it, in turn, is getting me more into apps on both it and the laptop to move stuff to it, from it, around it.

It's all too damn visual for me.  Today's example: Adobe Digital Editions, which receives the library downloads of .epubs.  My bookshelf of them on this PC was getting cluttered with all the expired titles, and there wasn't a intuitive way I could see to get rid of them. Clicking them did nothing, and right-clicking them brought up a Flash settings box but nothing else. And without menus or toolbars, I couldn't figure out how to kill them.

Help, maybe? That sent me to the Web and gave me this thoroughly helpful tip:

Once the item is in your library, you see a "banner" indicating how much time is left before the item expires. Once the item expires, it remains in your library, but you can't read it. You need to delete it in order to remove it from your library. You can also return items early if you have finished reading them.

Kinda glossed over the process of HOW to "delete it in order to remove it from your library," huh.  Finally, buried in the instructions from another county's website, is the secret handshake of the deal: click the little triangle in the corner of the expired item, bring up its hitherto-invisible menu, choose and confirm delete.

Clean and simple, my ass.  But at least it's done.

----

My first two cases of the week settled. I also found out that the one on Thursday may be postponed for a fourth time, on account of a party to the lawsuit acting like a complete bunch of imbeciles.  But I also heard back from an important primary source for my Mets paper, possibly enabling me to get the thing written on time.

And with that, I'll give this a -30-. Or possibly an ALT-F4.
