On the iPhone: last weekend's Whadya Know from Michigan State, featuring the guy who runs the particle accelerator featured in, um, this:

On the overhead TVs:

I did say how thrilled I was they were showing MSNBC rather than Fox at this new place, right? Well, on Saturday afternoons, MSNBC is as lame as just about anyone else not showing sports. This weekend's feature was a documentary on a variety of transsexuals going in a variety of directions, but the one reference I saw on the captions was from one who tried to reverse his/her sexual propensities through something called JONAH. This, it turns out, stands for "Jews Offering New Alternatives to Homosexuality" and is one of them thar "cure" sites that goys guys like Larry Craig seem to seek out once they get caught in one act or another.

Leaving aside the effectiveness, the politics and even the religious elements of such a program, all I could wonder about was the marketing angle: Why would a homophobic organization name itself after a Biblical character who got eaten and then wound up smelling like fish?
