This memory, rather, was inspired by going to the
Christmas Carol performance at Emily's high school the other night. She didn't perform in it, but she did have a significant part in it all the same, which deserves (and will get) its own post.
We got there early, and as we waited, I found myself in need of a trip to what Dickens would've called "the loo." The womens' room was prominently located behind the box office, but there was no sign of where I was expected to go.
The resulting tour of the auditorium wing finally produced relief- behind a door with the biggest "MEN" sign on it I have perhaps ever seen in my life. Helen Keller could not have missed it, not that I know what she'd do with the knowledge.
More to the point, it jogged an old brain cell or two containing the classic Martin Mull song from the 70s called "Men."
