Don't blink or you'll miss it.
Mar. 9th, 2014 06:16 amEbony woke me up at about 5 minutes to 2 this morning. As she will. I let her out and did some quick online reading while awaiting her return....
and watched, as the time on the screen went from 1:59 to 3:01. Just like that.
Fifty-plus times, I've done this drill, but never can I recall actually being sentient for the loss of that hour.
It does make you wonder why they hide it away so well. As one of those somecards so eloquently put it:

Somehow, it was easier getting back to sleep at "3" knowing that I'd already lost the damn hour, anyway. Between my brain and Ebony's bladder, these 2 a.m. wakies are bound to be in my future, so maybe we can fix this before the end of October so I'm not stuck sitting here having to relive an entire useless hour of my life.

Date: 2014-03-09 03:10 pm (UTC)Daylight Savings Time means Spring to me. I don't care that the Vernal Equinox is still a week and a half away. Spring has sprung, and any snowflake you may see is a delusion. The black-capped chicadees, song sparrows and tufted titmice are in abundance, and I see the beginnings of buds forming on the black oak.
Time to drag out the deck furniture. Spring doesn't just happen, you gotta MAKE it happen.
