Lighten Up.

OK then. After that very heavy geopolitical entry, I think it’s time for something light.
Hmm, maybe that’s not the best choice.
I could also use some levity after her thoroughly annoying day yesterday. In no particular order:
I got my much-needed certificate for the cybersecurity seminar, only to discover it was not approved for a specific cybersecurity credit. I presume you have to hack into the state computer to get that. Still, when I actually got into the details of applying for renewing my attorney registration, it doesn’t look like they were requiring that out of me yet. So I just submitted it as one of my regular 24 credits and I’ll take my chances.
Next, once I got into the details of the actual open enrollment for health insurance through my Rochester office, I discovered it is not the amazing saving I thought it would be. Still, it will be significantly less than renewing with the Redshirts, and I will be doing it on a “pay as you go” basis instead of having to pony up almost 2 grand every three months starting a month from now. The only major change is the deductible, so I just have to be careful about my health for the next 12 months and plan for the inevitable sudden illness or hospitalization that would now cost a lot more out of pocket until Medicare kicks in.
Then I made a trip downtown that would have been totally unnecessary if other people had done their jobs. One was to visit a clerk's office to get a certified copy of some thing that somehow none of the other five parties to the transaction knew how to do. I then went to check on the document I was promised would be signed on Monday of this week if something didn’t happen by Friday of last week- a thing which didn’t happen. I specifically asked at the time if something had to be submitted in writing to memorialize it, and the judge said, oh no, it’s on the record.“ Turns out “the record" is an audio recording, close to two hours long, that somebody has to sit through and listen to to hear the five seconds of “on the record“ that apply to my case. By the end of the day yesterday they hadn’t done it, and since state courts are closed for Election Day today, it’s not happening today, either.
Maybe I shouldn’t go to work at all.
That, apparently, is what the cat thinks. Jack is not to be confused with the other cat, who is now taken up near permanent residence for the winter on or next to my desk:
Experts do say that to extend life, you should always try to charge your kitty before the battery goes below 20 percent. Somebody saw that photo and asked if the red tongue turned off when Zoey was fully charged.
And now off we go again.
