Eleanor made a perfectly lovely dinner last night out of shrimp and mango. She varied the recipe slightly and toasted some powdered coconut to sprinkle on top.
Since our region does not attract coconut-bearing swallows (African OR European) at this time of year, there was no whole fruit laying about, but rather, a bag of pre-powdered Wegmans Organic.
Dinner finished, long days had, we toddled off to bed,....
and Zoey, presumably, toddled in to work.
By feeding time, 15 minutes ago, our kitchen looked like Extract of George Washington Powdered Wig. The bag had been upended, and dragged from next to the refrigerator all the way to the corner of the stove (or, roughly, from the red dish towel to the Folgers can in this picture), leaving a sweet and sticky trail in its wake.
It's been mostly cleaned up, and five happy little tongues will do the rest, but yeesh. It's the second time this week that Zo's gone prospecting in the night, deciding three mornings ago that she wanted to try the flavored decaf in my carafe. Amazingly, she didn't break it, but she did pour at least two cups of the stuff onto that beautiful new floor.
First hazelnut, now coconut. The common thread does appear to be "nuts," dontit?

"I wonder if there's a coupon for this stuff, om nom nom...."

Date: 2012-01-07 06:16 pm (UTC)We usually just find random socks around the house. Or the seat covers off the dining room chairs. Not sure why my cat has decided they're prey of some kind and need to be killed and dragged around the house.
