Yuletides have been outed. My Slings and Arrows author turns out to be one [personal profile] sage (sageness in that other place), who has now been duly re-thanked.

I also disclosed my revived brain cells on the subject of The Thesis Wot I Wrote, which was only partially about Edward II, the subject of the author's Slings and Arrows prequel. I' ve got these 104 crumbling typed pages sitting here, so what should I do?

*Burn it
*Upload it
*Dump it in the Thames

("Oh, did you like your thesis?")

Actual pollage of that will be on the LJ cross-post of this.

Meanwhile, I can now reveal that my outbound Yuletide was to a relatively nearby Torontonian named [personal profile] toft (some variant of that on LJ), who read, and liked, my piece based on a Lewis episode she asked for which was titled "Life Born of Fire." I'd never seen it before sitting down to write on Deadline Day, but it quickly became apparent that there were sad but usable parallels to the local story of Jamey Rodemeyer, so I used them:

Not a Yuletide Carol (1224 words) by faviconcaptainsblog
Fandom: Lewis
Rating: General Audiences
Warning: Author Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings
Characters: Robert Lewis, James Hathaway, Inspector Morse
Summary:

Twas three nights before Christmas, and Inspector Lewis has another young suicide on his hands, and a ghost who refuses to allow the story to turn into a Christmas Carol episode.

It's a bit silly, and just over the word minimum (compared to most, but that's me and wordcounts ::endures stares from editors::), but I had fun doing it and have gotten my share of kudosity for it. You don't need to have seen much Lewis to get it, but a good dosing of Inspector Morse could never hurt:)
