Pretty much all of it came down at once in the middle of the morning.

First, an official name change, from

to

THAT was call number one:  Tech Dude basically begging out of my laptop repair- of the Lenovo with the Festival of REMOVE SCREWS- because, he determined, the broken keyboard was riveted in so thoroughly they might be able to get it out but would never be able to secure the new one back in place.

I suggested duct tape. He didn't laugh- but also said they couldn't do it for liability reasons. I did vaguely know this- that despite its role as one of the two essential forces in the universe (WD-40 being the equal and opposite to it), duct tape is really bad on ducts, and other heat-generating things. So I'm back to Key One, trying to get someone who is good at removing and replacing- or finding a frame with a working keyboard for this thing where the undergarments went bad, and Frankensteining them together.

----

Then the bank guy on the refi called and left a message to call him, with no other detail. I knew that would not be good.

Indeed, it was not. The appraiser was sticking to his guns, rebutting each of the recent comparables on our own street that we'd come up with for his review- for this, that or the other reason.  They also reneged on their promise to reappraise on their own nickel if he wouldn't change his mind. The bank ultimately offered to refund our application and appraisal fees already paid if we just went away and started from scratch with somebody else, but I have a proposal out to them to accept the lower loan amount based on our current appraiser's clustercomparableness, if they'll reduce their other costs by that amount and maybe a bit more so at least we're not writing them a check to mortgage our own home.  We're still waiting for word on THAT.

----

We both took most of yesterday afternoon off after getting those bits of news, did the Zoom poetry gig together (my Zoom app was on the dear almost departed laptop), I read a bit of rage poetry, and tomorrow was another day, aka today.  That went a bit better: I picked up a couple of overdue clothing items at Kohl's, sanded a bit in the bathroom, and we finished the penultimate season of Atypical.

I also watched Joe's first press conference, just to assure myself that he's not the weak, frail, demented old man the nutjobs are making him out to be. I thought he did fine- and those on the right who complain about his alleged gaffes shouldn't through stoneds:

What a heal, that butch. (And Operation Star Trek Ripoff had nothing to do with distribution, which by all accounts the previous regime completely bitchered.)

Oh man

I'm just constantly amazed how anyone can take these Bozos seriously when they can't even SPELL. Ugh.

Banks. Double ugh.
