Australia, for one. Happy New Year, Jessica:)
Only that can explain the sudden turns of good karma that seem to be following me today. Last night, we discovered that Zoey's ashtma meds ran out. If the vet wasn't open, and/or we couldn't get the scrip to Wegmans on New Years Eve (yes, we fill her meds there- it's way cheaper), poor kitty could've been in a world of hurt to start 2012. No worries, though; the vet was open, the one who prescribed it was actually in, which made the refill easier, and it's dropped off for Eleanor to pick up when she gets out of work around 2.
I also wasn't sure if our town libraries were open today, since I'd tracked down one of my to-read books to the nearest branch. Yup, open; yup, procured:)
Right before that, I checked in to see if I could get my hars cut. There was no wait when I arrived except for two customers to be cashed out. Immediately after I arrived, five people, two of them kids, rolled in. They're still there.
And we have our Plan for Emily's birthday next Tuesday:) I literally dreamed this one when I awoke round 9; we had no idea what to get her, so we decided on a where. She is in serious need of distraction in a different setting from the usual ones of home and school, so when my dream placed me up in Toronto for a few hours, I said, hey, why not? When I stopped in Eleanor's office to ask her to pick up the prescription, I asked what her days off are next week, and they include Tuesday. She also suggested a Niagara Falls Butterfly Conservatory visit en route, which we've been wanting to do for years. Things are coming together nicely.
Later, we have the QI Christmas special. "Brian Blessed us, everyone!"
It's all good, 2012. Now keep it up:)

Date: 2011-12-31 10:54 pm (UTC)Zoey's asthma meds make me think of Sabrina. She hated taking her pills and would actively avoid me to keep from dealing with them. But when I finally captured her and got them down, I'd sit with her for a minute or two, stroking her throat to make sure she actually swallowed it. Her asthma seemed to not be a whole lot better though. Some, but not a great deal. Finally, one day I was doing super cleaning. I moved the chair in the living room to actually vacuum under it, instead of just AROUND it. Guess what I found? About 15 half-dissolved tablets, melted and stuck to the carpet. And in my ex-husband's closet (which I rarely used after we divorced)? Same thing. That little rat had been spitting them out for months. Grrrr. Cats.
OH well, Happy New Year!!

Date: 2012-01-01 12:45 am (UTC)I have been feeling good since after midnight (though a bit dopey at the moment because we went to sleep very, very, very stupid late) and your Brian Blessed us comment was shown round the table after midnight, so you were thought of - probably when you were just beginning your day. Hooray for positiveness!
Happy, happy New Year to you and Em and Eleanor. You are a blessing from 2011 I am happy to carry over!
(did our Christmas letter get to you?)

Date: 2012-01-01 12:48 am (UTC)And yes, indeed, we got your greetings. Did my 98p of postage (double verified on two different scales) do the same?
