Golden Tickets and Golden Idols

Eleanor got very good news yesterday afternoon: Wegmans, which had only been able to vaccinate over-65s, came round and offered her the first dose of the vaccine during work yesterday! Word was, they had some about-to-expire supply and were expanding the ranks! She even texted me that I might be able to get in myself before the end of the day!
.... except Stupidhead here never saw that text:P
It was one of those phoney-phreaky things where I'd started a text to her while she was sending it and thus never saw the intervening text from her about the availability. By the time she told me about it in person after getting home with the first dose already in her, all the windows had closed, and neither that site nor any other I've checked has offered anything sooner or closer than the April journey to Syracuse I booked last week. They did say to keep trying, though, which I have and will.
Ironically, the text I was sending her was about another Failyah Ta Cammunikate:
This is my business bank's equivalent of the other bank's Tom The Mortgage Guy, who we couldn't get a return call from. I'd gotten this guy's name on Thursday, and decided to call after court on Friday morning, in part because of the three-hour difference between here and Beautiful Downtown Burbank;) Turned out I dealt with this guy on some previous refinance, because the name sounded familiar, not just from the Laugh-In connection, and I even had his cell number in my contacts from whenever that was. I'd just called him when Eleanor sent the unseen text, and he of course called me back just as she was walking in the house to hear me bitch about missing out on an appointment. So now we're still waiting for HIM to call back, as well.
Fickle, those Fingers of Fate.

But fickle is not as fucked up as this CPAC shit this weekend. Any doubt about the deification of the Former President has been disspelled by seeing them roll this out yesterday at their convention of crazy:
I think sometimes the only reason Fundies make a big deal of displaying the 10 Commandments in public is so they can use it as a list to cross them off as they break them. FPT alone has already ticked off adultery, stealing, coveting 11,780 votes, bearing false witness, killing (at least tolerating it from his good buddy Crown Prince Bonesaw), golfing on Shabbos, and, now, he's complicit in one of the few unbroken ones left by letting them pass a golden idol of himself around CPAC. It's only fitting, I suppose, since now that his tax returns are finally coming out, the Manhattan DA's gonna perp walk him and he'll be out on Baal.
I thought of this again when somebody posted this earlier today:
Somehow I doubt He ever thought He'd have to add Smite assholes dragging golden idols around conventions and claiming to be My followers, but here we are.

Speaking of Laugh-In...
Date: 2021-02-28 12:20 pm (UTC)My office was an add-on to the warehouse where our business resides. It has four doors: one leads to the parking lot, one to the restroom, and two into our facility. Quite often, more than one opens at a time, the entrants will spew something on their way through and leave.
I am constantly reminded of those doors on the "Laugh Wall".
It's pretty freaking hilarious!
