Because this year, one day just isn't enough....

1 de octobre was the day this keyboard died. Been through four full days of kludge-ing with cut-paste and whatnot, but it's getting old.

So is the dog.  The Final Appointment is now set for late Tuesday morning. Em will be here; we hope Cam will be, too.

That falls a day before Monday, which will mark 25 years since my sister Sandy died, way too young.

On the bright side, I've just begun my 39th read of 2013, within two of the 41 I managed for all of last year. The two most recent- Kate Danley's Queen Mab, a reimagining of Romeo and Juliet, and Cloud Atlas- both contain more death than your average book, but that's okay. We're used to it.

Back to the future now, so I can get back to 19th century South Pacific again....

I am so sorry about your puppy. It will be so hard for you. It is very much the last, best, thing you will ever do for her, though... helping her walk quietly across the rainbow bridge.
