I walked out into the hallway this morning and discovered that Bronzini had finished his science project: a model of the solar system.

Jupiter and Saturn are behind him, and the other three are out of shot, but trust me. They're there.

I then went to a workout- yes, now that we're finally out of the yellow zone, I feel more comfortable going in- and a fairly ordinary workday to end the month. Eleanor went to a friend's at the end of the day to share something with her; she wound up invited to stay for dinner and I wound up with my own delish looking portion of it.  But while she was out, I worked on another project of my own:  putting together a cheat sheet of sites, dates, instructions and "comments" for Eleanor, who wants to be sure she knows all the ins and outs of the bills I pay in case I get hit by a bus.

Inspired by an actual billpaying experience from earlier today, I first came up with a sample:

Phone bill- somethingsomething dot com
Due- 15th of the month
Method- Pay online, no paper bill
Browser- Chrome (login saved)
Comments- Take BP medication before paying bill because WHY WON'T YOU JUST GO TO THE BILLPAY PAGE WHEN I LOG IN AND NOT BOTHER ME WITH DEALS AND INSURANCE OFFERS AND NO I DON'T WANT TO DO A @#$%^ SURVEY ABOUT MY EXPERIENCE AND WHY WON'T THAT BUS JUST GET HERE ALREADY?!?!?

So as February goes  by, we'll sit down and mostly pay things online. We're really down to only a couple I actually write monthly checks for; both can now be paid online, and the one, the parent loan payment for Emily's RIT, is now back on pause until October, though I'm hoping to resume the payments this year which will all pay down principal and knock several more months or even a year or so off the remaining schedule.

Horrible autocorrect of the day:

I went to type the name "Norman" into something and it came out "Mormon." THAT led to this:

Mormon Bates: Marries multiple wives and then hacks them all to death with a kitchen knife.

----

And speaking of death, we watched Dead Poet's Society tonight. I think it's the first Robin Williams film we have been able to watch in the over six years since his death.  It added a layer of sadness to the images and metaphors of death throughout the film.  Ethan Hawke (whose character does not die) is SOOOO young here, and Robert Sean Leonard (spoiler alert: his does, and he's also SOOOO young) went on to play a doctor for many years on House, the exact career path that led to his character's suicide in this.

Every one of the faculty except the Williams character is a flaming asshole, including one played by Leon Pownall, who went on to a role in Slings and Arrows as a character named Brian (who I don't remember from the show) and who was also a longtime actor and director at the real Stratford Festival in Ontario that S&A's  New Burbage was more-or-less based on (and Pownall also died, fortunately after both performancces).

----

The weekend awaits. Probably with more projects.

Dead Poets' Society is one of my favourite films. A lot of my teaching style derives from it.
