Not really much I can add....
Sep. 19th, 2013 05:46 pmTo a post that Eleanor already made about a random act of reciprocal kindness that far exceeded that extended in the first place.
Last week, Star Trek Into Darkness came out on DVD, but Paramount is really pushing the Blu-Ray bit, so for a couple extra bucks we got a combo pack with a digital download (given to the kids) and a Blu-Ray disk we have no way to watch. Facebook's ideal for this kind of quick-post, so I offered it to anyone wot wanted it. A friend from there quickly responded; he went to my high school, though I didn't know him back then (we have mutual friends), but first is first, and so I shipped it out....
....and received a far more amazing gift in return:

Marc manufactures CDs for a jazz magazine. Some of the 34 disks (and one DVD) in that box were copies from those runs, but many were original albums from artists we've known and loved for years (or at least Eleanor has). There's traditional jazz, blues, R&B- from Memphis Slim and the Moroccos to David Sanborn. Eleanor was near tears flipping through the selections- and I was just full of thanks for something that was so completely unexpected.
This isn't paying it forward- it's paying it beyond forward. So thanks again, Marc, and I hope we will finally meet in person (assuming we never did and I just Can't Remember Shit) to make these thanks, from both of us, even more live, but certainly no less real:)
