Pretty sunset tonight as I drove home from cardio, where I watched the final minutes of the Bills game:

That game occurred about 20 miles south of here, in weather that has to be considered exceedingly un-Buffalolike. Temperatures were in the low 40F range, there was hardly any wind to speak of, and there was little if any snow. The latter's already broken a record for nonexistence- almost a full week into December, and we've yet to have a single measurable (defined as an inch or more) snowfall at the official airport measuring station. Typically, we get that first measurable accumulation in October, are well into the cycle of plow-and-slog by November, and we don't come out from under all the piles until April, if not May. Last year, we famously broke every conceivable record, even though our part of town didn't get the eight-foot dump of the stuff the week before Thanksgiving.
Not that we're complaining, but it's got to be freaking the animals out. Ours were especially feisty this morning- I booted out all the cats after Tazzer dropped a pee bomb on me while cuddling around 6 a.m., and the three of them proceeded to get into collar-pulling hissyfights with each other before everybody finally settled down. Then, when I went to put the linens in the wash, I found they'd hit another trifecta in the laundry area: they (a) knocked over the bigass jug of detergent, which (b) immediately jiggled the plug on the washer and made me briefly think it was broken, but then (c) crashed into the ductwork venting the gas from the dryer to the outside and knocked it off the back of the latter appliance.
All this before 9 a.m. Well played, aminals:P
I unjiggled the plug, rolled the Era back to my reach, and reconnected the duct. All was well except reconnecting that damn thing took three tries like it always does.

Date: 2015-12-07 10:50 pm (UTC)I'm really surprised by your lack of snow, too!!
I feel your pain re: Tazzer. Stripey is having some of the same kinds of issues, except not #1... We got him on immodium (like for people) and that's helped tremendously. I was at wit's end! And of course just freaking out thinking this was going to have to be it. Luckily, it's not.
If you haven't grabbed a package of those puppy training pads, I recommend them. Makes clean up way easier.

Date: 2015-12-07 11:45 pm (UTC)I laid one down on the bed this morning.
Tazzer jumped up next to it.
I picked him up and put him on it.
He moved off.
I then went to put it under where he wanted to be.
You KNOW what happened next.
Off to switch the laundry.

Date: 2015-12-08 09:42 pm (UTC)I really feel for you. Stripey's... accidents... were restricted to my closet, which did indeed mean losing two pairs of shoes, and to a couple of places in the VICINITY of the box. So I've laid down the pads all around all the boxes, and PUT a box close to where he likes to sleep on the couch, and so far, he's making it. On the bed though... that's no good.

Date: 2015-12-09 05:14 am (UTC)one of the things that helps puppy with SCARFING/INHALING his food, is that i only feed half in his bowl, the other half i throw around the floor out in the porch (around and under furniture). and he really enjoys tracking each bit down. i used to feed him by food ball, but molly tries to join and gets growled/snapped at. so... i have to divide them.
