Meanwhile, back at the ranch....
Jun. 27th, 2015 08:56 pmThe kitchen got a lot prettier today. It's been functional for over a week, and Eleanor's done quite a bit of painting, but this was the day the new tile started going on.
First came sanding- machine (her) and hand (both of us). The cats retreated; Michelle sought out the nearest escape pod-

- while Zoey launched herself onto an inspection perch across the way atop the fridge-

Soon after, Eleanor had the first section of backsplash up- and while this shot doesn't do justice to the colours or the patterns, it's a heckuva lot more beautiful than anything that's been on that wall in over 50 years:

(Those are gloves in the bottom right corner, btw.)
While all that was happening, I mowed the front lawn before the rains came, which they've been doing ever since; I did sorting and herd-thinning of Tupperware and Suches that reside under the cooktop; and I got our fish tank under control for the time being. Nothing as beautiful; nothing as permanent.
