Comings and Goings with the Kids

As Emily announced by phone earlier, "Both of my boys are home."

The new one of the two is Westley. Yes, they got a new kitten. As in a real tiny one this time; Lollypop Farm was running a special on the wee ones, and unlike their original girl and their recently departed boy who came as older cats, they're getting to imprint on this little guy right from the start:



We didn't want to particularly encourage or discourage them if they wanted to get another cat, but as Eleanor pointed out, they really lost Arthur close to a month ago. It was just a long and painful process of letting go.  I think they're ready for this.

Cameron also came home at day's end, weighing slightly less than he did going out: all four of his wisdom teeth came out earlier.  It took months for his dental provider (i.e., his mom) to get the surgery scheduled, but once they got it set up, they took care of it quickly.

Quickly, at least, as in "a few days after meeting the guy." The teeth themselves took longer today. In order to work him into their schedule, they had to fit the procedure in between previous appointments. So it was pull and wait, pull and wait- times two.  Fortunately, between his constitution and the meds, he came out of it okay.

Plus there's now a kitten to play with. That never hurts.

Black kitten? I am very fond of black kitties - the Boobelly Girlcat was all black. I can't really imagine getting another black cat, but I love them so!

Our youngest youngun is an almost all-black longhair- but Westley mostly resembles the first kitty we ever had, who made it to almost 18 and ruled the roost with three of the four aminals who remain here.

Esmeralda had white patches on her chest and tummy that looked almost bikini-like. Westley has at least a wisp of the top part of that in white, so we're hoping he inherits some of her spunk.
