Nobody's gonna care what a tire fire of a day I had today, so I'm not going to post about it.

Nor, in the grand scheme of things, will anybody likely remember the two things that took over the Internet for much of today. (I won't even link to them, because nobody will remember them.)

No, the only indelible mark on the history of the world for 27 February 2015 is, and always shall be, the passing of Leonard Nimoy.

Oddly, my first memories of him were not from Star Trek but as a late-series addition to Mission:Impossible after the former show got canceled. MI's original network run was on early enough for me to watch on a regular basis. The Trek tales (save a rare first-run few) came to me later, but nobody in that cast held the whole thing together, for almost 50 entire years, than his ownership of All The Vulcan Things.

Zachary Quinto's not bad, but at the risk of mixing my metaphors, Leonard Nimoy made it so.

But don't take my words for it. Hear his.

This post will self-destruct in five seconds. Live long and prosper, Paris.
