Don't worry. Bee happy. Or orange.

Despite having three days of my life back early next week- well, two of them, as I forgot something at the other office and will need to shlep back for it on Tuesday- today was a long one. Out before 7 AM, in just after 6:30. The early part of the day was taking Emily to work east of our Rochester office, since Cam needed their car early in the day. On the way out Route 31, I noticed a somewhat staggery bee trying to wake up in the crack between my windshield and dashboard.
Now, I long ago gave up my childhood fear of stingies, but Emily seemed genuinely concerned that this insect was going to get in my face and crash the car, so we pulled over to try and coax him out. By the time we stopped the car and I got out to poke at the spot, I found no sign of him. We did see a bee fly off, but who knows if it was our passenger?
I promptly christened him Eric, and hoped I hadn't turned him into half-a-bee. Take it away, Eric the Youtube Director!

Just before I got home, we got our first pictures inside their new place. They finally got to sign the lease and get the keys; they can do some modest moving over the weekend, but they won't officially be "in" until they (First National Bank of Dad, Member FDIC) pay the deposits and the extra week of rent on Monday.
Until today, we weren't sure which unit they were getting (we now know), and whether it was an upper or lower unit (up), but we had heard about one distinctive feature of the place:

They'd been told there was an orange wall. As such colors go, this one's quite nice.
So the moving in earnest will go on next week, with the big push late and into the weekend. Too bad we won't have a lot of worker bees (or half-bees) to help.

Date: 2014-08-23 03:56 am (UTC)When we moved into our old place, there was a bright red feature wall in the loungeroom. It was really, really ugly. But theirs is not too bad! Are they allowed to paint over it, or are they going to keep it?
