Two, not so much:(

We finally got to see Guardians yesterday, and it was as funny as advertised. The trailers had given away some of the potential surprises, but there were plenty more to keep it moving (in both senses of the word) and interesting. The mix tape now makes a lot more sense in the context of the story, and they looked like they all had an incredible amount of fun making it.

The stay-through-the-credits Marvel trick has rather jumped the shark, though.... or, should I say,the duck. Why they picked THAT total non-duckquitor of a Marvelverse character to tease (Emily assures me they're not serious about it) is beyond me. HTD is the Ishtar of Marvel movies and I can't imagine it involving anything other than Stan Lee losing a bar bet.

We got the usual nine previews ahead of the feature, one of which was for the latest Night at the Museum installment. I must admit, the Teddy Roosevelt character kinda stood out among the unexpectedly living...

more so now:(

----

Emily called us with the news. (She actually had more; Cam's job is confirmed, as is their move-in at the new place; they may even get a week of overlap to make the move more gentle.)  Robin Williams was never a guaranteed "get" for us, but anything we did see him in, funny or serious, we almost unfailingly enjoyed.

His comic style will be hard for anyone to equal. His generosity of spirit, likewise.

To you, we say one final time:

Nanu

Not exactly a HTD fan, but I was glad that the after-credits scene was a joke related to the current movie, not a teaser for a future one. (I liked that about Iron Man 3, too.) I don't want to feel like they (and we) always have one eye on the next installment in the franchise.

But if I were to see it again, I wouldn't sit through all the credits.
