And so begins the Marathon....
Dec. 6th, 2012 10:06 amAnd I've already driven 100 miles. To a courthouse east of Rochester where I've never had the best of luck. Already that's true, because in my 7-odd a.m. rush to get out the door for the two-hour drive, I managed to grab my overcoat but not my suit jacket.
Decorum, shmecorum.
The other thing I don't have is opposition. Yet. The other lawyer's been begging off routine proceedings in this case because of health issues in her family, but I needed to bring something to a head before the snow flies out here and I wrote her, when I filed the papers, to say I'd give her any accommodation she needed. No response to that, either.
So I wait. Then, all the way back by late today, via at least two work stops between here and home- all just prelude to a church meeting that begins at 8:30 tonight. Then a Batavia-Buffalo shuttle starting 7-ish again tomorrow morning. Plus I desperately need clean laundry. And, I hope, not another goddam suit.

Yesterday ended rough. A late-day spate of caller/emailers, most calling repeatedly, all either bullshitting me and/or going on to me about things I couldn't control other than being the messenger they all wanted to shoot. Plus Eleanor came home early and in pain- a combination of a Tuesday workout and getting too much cashing assigned to her on Wednesday- and that made for an early night of it for both of us.
Oops- case called. Sorta won, nobody cared about my fashion statement - and nobody will, from here on out.
