Hard-y birthdays.
Jul. 22nd, 2012 08:24 pmFriday was Eleanor's. It was difficult to say much about it on the day that began so horrifically, and there hasn't been enough closure over the Colorado situation in the past two days to do her day justice, either. But I know she had a good day, a relaxing (for her) day, a helpful (for Emily and Cameron) day, and those are what are important.
Thanks to all who observed it on the day itself, or since. I announced it in church this morning and she got many more kind wishes from friends there. Tomorrow, she's back to work, but she has as much love from me, and us, and you, as I know she gives to all of us.

Tomorrow, meanwhile, would've been my sister Sandy's 73rd.
We love her and miss her and wish she'd been part of so many of the changing seasons of our lives since 23 Octobers ago. Yet she still lives, in the memories we carry and the lives she touched, directly or, as in this picture, indirectly:

Sandy: TheNext Nexter Generation. It's not just the biology, or the chemistry. It's the cardiology that binds her heart to theirs, and to mine.
