As often happens when you're shocked and unprepared, I'm sure this is not the best picture of Margie in existence. The words, though, are perfect to the occasion:

Also: Margie's last sermon, in the full context of its service  (if that link doesn't work at some point in the future, comment and I'll get you the mp3). Ithaca's St. Paul's, from what I remember of it, is not a cathedral-type sanctuary heavy on the High Church stuff; it's an unassuming stone edifice in a fairly quiet corner near the Commons.  But start a service with a majestic piece by Ralph Vaughan Williams; add a haunting bell-tolling memorial for a dozen members of their family of faith; and then bring up the kids and hear Margie's words, and you may as well be in THE St. Paul's.

I don't know... I quite like that photo. There's something about her face. Maybe it's just knowing how well you thought of her, but it looks serene and kind.

Maybe it's because she looks like a loving mum. :-)

She surely was, and I see your point, but I was unduly spoiled by the real thing. That picture (doubtless from an installation or a church directory) just exudes the fotog shouting "Next!"
