(Inside message: It doesn't matter how you got here- it matters that you have a Happy Birthday!)

(My reply: I'm good with any sport allowing you to have beer on the ice during the actual competition;)

----

The workday ended with yet another Genesee Screamer-fest, this time with me going up against another lawyer, who could use one of those stones shoved into a strategically placed location, but it ended nicely. I actually got the idea for the venue for Ray's Birthday Dinner Out from a dream the other night: we returned to the Chinese place near UB's Main Street Campus that we'd enjoyed for the first time all-together back for Em's birthday in January.

Great food, fun server, awesome experience. The two college kids at the next table kept flashing during the meal; flash photography, that is. Turns out it was for a class project; their instructor had commissioned them to experience and photograph an authentic ethnic meal, and there's probably no more authentic place than May Jen this side of the Canadian border.  Once they explained what they were doing, we were all-in with it; we offered to let them shoot our entrees, I took pictures of the two women and Susan (the owner of the restaurant) who sat with them to explain the origins and compositions of the dishes they'd picked out, and we even made sure that our mutual server got a decent tip for everything she did for both of our tables for the evening.

I'm still enjoying the remnants of the bottle of wine; we have leftovers for at least two more meals; and life, overall, is pretty damn nice:)

I wanted to send a message on the book of Face or via email, but I never could get what I wanted to say out properly.

I'm glad you're born, I'm glad it was a Happy Birthday, and I wish you many many more with the gratitude of someone who considers being allowed to peek into your life a gift in itself. :)

Thanks. Bookface is nice for sheer volume of wishes, but I mean to thank every one personally who posts here, because I can:)

It had some bad and even sad moments, but I should be used to this. After all, I share the birthdate with both Dr. Carl Sagan and disgraced ex-VP Spiro Agnew. Kristallnacht occurred 21 years to the day before my birth and the Wall came down 30 years to the day after. Life, apparently, is apparently a box of German chocolates.

Edited for the numercountinshputzin.

Thanks. All in all, with the exception of Happy Valley, Pennsylvania, November's had more than its share of win.

If I already said that, then I said it again.

You think I remember if you did? I don't remember what I.... what was I saying? Something about federal agencies I want to eliminate?

Well, damn, if the agencies have gone feral, what choice do we have?

That sounds like a great dinner, and a fun time talking about the origins of the dishes, too...

Happy birthday again!

And more thanks to you:)

Your pic from the launch party (http://www.shelf-awareness.com/ar/theshelf/2011-11-10/image_of_the_day:_thoroughly_modern_myths.html) is awesome. Is that your Aluminum Cheetah costume?
