* Didn't get any measurable snow. What do you think this is, an arctic wasteland covered with ice or something?

* Did pick up Buckaroo Banzai novel, plus a Bobby McFerrin CD, plus plus the Tony Bennett Duets II collection. My, Lady Gaga has an actual VOICE:)

* Didn't get into actual reading of said novel, since dumbdumb forgot the reading rack for the elliptical, plus I bailed after 20 minutes or so due to fatigue and a desire to get home.

* Did get into extended discussions with wife and child just before and upon arrival at home, using various combinations of phone, about Very Important Things.

* Didn't forget that we have to be at church by 10:30 or so tomorrow.

* Did clear major stuff off desk, strip remainder of old floor from kitchen, and attend a pain-inducing 7:30 a.m. workout, all while Eleanor was at work herself.

* Didn't stay awake for end of World Series. Can't be too mad at Cardinals for winning; they showed a lot of moxie in actually holding a lead for eight innings.

* Did say goodnight.

Didn't you watch the video I posted of the Lady Gaga/Tony Bennett duet? She really is VERY good, which only makes me like her more!

I hope you like the novel!

Don't think I've seen it, but I shall look about.

I started Passages first, but I may bail on it temporarily because BB will go much faster. And thank you for the Human Experiment Bookage:) I'll return that along with your copy of Maggie whenever I found where in this mosh pit I actually hid your copy. (I can send you the .epub of it anytime you want.)

Well, thank you:) I'm finally getting to it after just finishing B. Banzai, or at least something like him. The one I read turns out to be just a novelization of the film put out in connection with the DVD release, so if there's an earlier version I should've read instead, I'll add that to the list.

I also still need to find your paperpulpy copy of Maggie for Hire and get it to you.

So you didn't get the Earl Max Rausch one? That's definitely not just a novelization of the film...

Well, that's who gets credited on the tin, but everything Wiki says that the movie came first, (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Adventures_of_Buckaroo_Banzai_Across_the_8th_Dimension#Development) out of some story ideas Rausch kicked around in the 70s, and the novel was a tie-in to the DVD release (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Adventures_of_Buckaroo_Banzai_Across_the_8th_Dimension#Buckaroo_Banzai_books). The © on the paperback I just finished is "1984, 2001 by Sherwood Productions," which sounds like the studio that went bankrupt before any of the promised sequelage could come about.

None of this is to complain- the book was fun, and I do want to see the film now, too, if only to see at least two straight seasons of Dexter characters plus my polygamous third wife Ellen Barkin in it- but again, if there's something more seminal, I'm up for it.

Huh, I'll have to see if I can borrow the book from DTA again and check. Because the book I read followed the basic plot of the movie, yes, but expanded a great deal, and used a very different voice and a much higher tone. It was more...awesome pulp adventure novel (complete with references to other Buckaroo Bonzai adventures) than it was a novelization of the movie.

Just to make sure, the one I have read and loved is this one. Not, to the best of my knowledge, this one

Captain, we have an ISBN match: yours and mine are both 0743442482. I think the references in it to other BB adventures are similar to G. Lucas starting the original You-Know-What as "Episode 4" (not that it turned out to be such a good idea once he got round to retrofitting 1 through 3).
