So fa ma di go:
Aug. 25th, 2011 01:44 pm* Made no money whatsoever from my work, trade or profession;
* Registered my [your name].com domain name; still have no azzafrazzin idea what I'm gonna do with it;
* Discovered that a dude who's pleading poverty with me over a $300 monthly payment schedule actually has $16,000-plus in his business bank account (emphasis on has, which one way or another is going to be converted into had by the time I'm finished);
* Futzed around with a fax machine that now, pretty constantly, refuses to receive faxes from the five people left on earth who still send them (two of whom are faxspammers pretending to be from my ::koff:: "corporate travel department"), and set an appointment with Verizon to fix what is almost certainly a line problem on their end, all without ever interacting with a live human being on this or any other continent;
* Made moderate headway editing a manuscript;
* Futzed further online giving the IRS another $60 and change of my money to assign me a new identification number because they apparently don't want me only having to keep track of the 40 or 50 of them I currently juggle;
* Priced out tires for Eleanor's truck and made an appointment to have them put on't tomorrow morning at ass o'clock;
* Had my one appointment of the day cancel because his wife died last night (he wanted to reschedule for tomorrow- I suggested that next week might make a little more sense);
* Got an email confirming that an anthology I'm contributing to has gotten a necessary green light and that I'm about to be sent my contract. For WRITING something.
The score, at least today, appears to be, Life 5, Law 0.

Date: 2011-08-25 07:21 pm (UTC)So you're good on getting admitted here? Remember, also, that if you ever need to show up in Bankruptcy Court in Western, there's a separate admission for that. I've caught longtime litigators forgetting that fact on the eve of trial.

NDNY is the only place where I had to appear for a formal ceremony, too - everything else has been just showing up at the clerk's office. Very exciting.
