Yah, well....
Mar. 30th, 2013 09:26 pmWe have two DVD players, one a recorder (allegedly). So when Eleanor wanted to watch a movie that would run past the 8:00 ET start time of Doctor Who, I said, "No problem," and cued up the recorder gizmo for two-plus hours starting at 8 (we also both wanted to check out this Orphan Black thingie they put in the afterDoctor hour) while playing the DVD on the other one.
Eleanor headed to bed before either the DVD ended or the recording began, and around 8:30, I checked on the recording progress.
There wasn't any.
Dumbshit forgot about the early return of Daylight Savings Time, so the DVR was happily displaying 7:30.
BBCA does have an on-demand section, but apparently you have to wait for the episode to end before accessing that. So, hey, no problem, I did an override on the DVR to go up to 10:00 (real) ET to record the Orphan Black premiere.
Cannot record on this disc.
Or that one, or the other one. I had this problem late last year with Doctors and Dexters. We use the record function so infrequently, it gets wonky. So now it's past the start time of both episodes, the cable box is rebooting (along with everything else out there), and we'll have to see if its record function will come back to life as it did back the last time this went down.
Failing that, I could just watch (or at least listen to) the Sabres hang on to a one-goal lead with just over three minutes to play.
Nahhhhh.
