Back in Saddle, more or less.

It's been a relatively quiet workday, which is good, because I'm still pretty worn from all the travel.  I think I'm caught up on everything that came in while I was away, and I just have to shovel around some funds to get a bunch of month-end bills paid to put me decently close to where I want to be right about now.

Teh book will be final by tonight! The 15 other authors have had since last night to get their final edits in, with a deadline of this evening to do so, and the list so far is a modest and manageable one. I still need to pick a title, a subhead and a cover containing them both, but that's just Executive Decision territory and I think I'm good with it.

Speaking of edits: I got bid on! By a Real Published Arthur!  So Mia will have at least $50 toward the cause on account of my brain being made this way! Know anyone else wanting in on the fun? Midnight tomorrow night (local time) is the close of bids.

Kimmy's birthday present (which I had Amazon ship direct to her so it'd get there before her birthday) is in Doraville, Georgia. They keep pushing back the delivery so much, it's gonna take Dora The Explorer to get it there, I'm a-feerin. And go wish her a happy birthday today while y'all're at it!

Strangest story of the day from the local paper:
Amherst police may think they’ve seen everything, but they’ve now arrested a 68-year-old woman accused of trying to stop someone from performing the Heimlich maneuver on a man in a crowded Niagara Falls Boulevard restaurant.

The incident occurred June 18, a Saturday night, when a 43-year-old man was choking and someone began to perform the Heimlich maneuver on him.

“Leave him alone. Let him die,” the woman reportedly yelled out, according to police reports.

She then allegedly tried to grab the phone from a restaurant employee who was calling 911, police said.

Emergency officials responded to the 911 call, but by then, the man was fine.

Well, other than him having to deal with HER now that he's still alive, anyway.

ETA. Forgot to mention- I picked up a nasty viral thingy earlier, trying to download a goofy ringtone Donna's daughter Chelsea has on her Droid. It messed with my Firefox proxy settings, and AVG's been running for hours finishing the cleanup, but just now, LJ wouldn't let me post this, instead giving me this never-before-seen image:
