If you're a multigagillionaire, suing Mark Cuban (a fellow gagillionaire) for turning the NBA's Dallas Mavericks into the "worst franchise" in all of professional sports, it becomes quickly inconvenient when said "worst franchise" suddenly becomes the champion of the league in which they play.

Or, as Cuban's lawyers put it in their summary judgment brief earlier this week:

Scoreboard.

Almost as "scoreboard" was this quote from the Mavs lawyer who filed the brief:

The document refers eight times (again, in three pages) to "the World Champion Dallas Mavericks."

Cuban’s attorney Tom Melsheimer told KDAF, "We put that in there eight times because nine was too many, and seven wasn't enough."

Please buy the Mets, Mark. Pleasepleasepleasepleaseplease.

That would be interesting. Though if he's not actually blackballed by Selig and Co., it's probably more likely he'd end up buying the Dodgers, given the train-wreck going down out in La-La-Land...
