It was damned frustrating, trying to post that last entry on the phone from the orifice. The web-based interface just doesn't play well with the phone. So after Eleanor picked me up, I checked to see if LJ had a friendlier app in the iTunes store.

I got your app right heah. I still hafta watch for annoying autocorrects, but it's TONS easier and more correct than just doing it through Safari on livejournal.com.

Would that the rest of the day's news was as good. That tire turned out to be unrepairable, and the relatively reasonable replacement doesn't feel right just yet. Meanwhile, when Eleanor did pick me up, her truck was sporting Noo Noiz that is, almost certainly, a harbinger of spring- or, rather, of bracket, and of the muffler attached to it that I'm gonna try to price out tomorrow. No disasters from Em today- in fact, Cam scored an interview at Wegmans today- but I did get a nag from RIT about paying her housing deposit for next fall today, and that helped re-deplete our emergency fund to less than half of what I'd just gotten it back up to this week.

Hey- at least the LJ app was free:P

On Bill Sheehan's advice (dude- where'd the damn toolbar go?), we tried streaming Slings and Arrows. Netflix was rather behaving badly, and Eleanor was having trouble liking many of the cast, but I'm gonna order the physical disks and see if they redeem themselves once the premiere spoiler works itself oot.

Night night. Gots fish to feed, yaknow.

Look out for that app - I miss out on a lot of posts, and I find that it does not actually post comments 80% of the time when I reply to posts. Make double check your standard, and don't rely that you saw everything every time.

Yeah, I saw it had various options for reading posts and comments and such, but Safari's fine for that kind of thing. It's just the teeping that gets gorked in the non-app setting.

Sorry...I love auto-correct mistakes.

That one was actually on purpose. But there were some beauts that I unautocorrected before you got here;)

He's Geoffrey Tennant, right? He's yet to get beyond a few quite good scenes in the pilot, but I'm holding out hope for him.

That wouldn't be a riff on any other Tennants, would it?

I don't think so - simply a happy co-incidence.

I never saw the series, I keep forgetting about it. I will see if it's available to rent at the store next time I'm in...

We're rather in love with the first two eps now. We're getting the physical disks ASAP. Send me a physical address and who knows what might show up?

ETA. This was rather a response to your I No Can Seez Taht reply to my later post about "bleats." The offer still completely stands, though:)

You weren't kidding about covert.

I was going to send an email, or at least LJ-message, to you to see what might be arranged, Slingyarrowise. But I can't.

So if you want to send me one, send one from here. (mailto:captainsblog@gmail.com)

So sorry. I locked down so tightly to prevent people I didn't want to contact me, I prevent those I *do* want to from doing so!

You should've seen the farce that was trying to get a similarly security conscious friend and I friended on Facebook. "I can't find you - wait, no, can you find me? No? ....crap."

my email is baschawolf at netspace dot net dot au - I am also on yahoo as the same, or nentikobe at livejournal dot com. Take that, spammers. :)

I *loved* Slings and Arrows! I only saw the 1st 2 series-- and my DVDs of the 1st series were lent to an irresponsible person who promptly lost them *sigh* but it's brilliant! I've been waiting for enough money to actually buy the DVDs, but... *shrugs*

The Tennant there is named, IIRC, for a Shakespearean scholar called Tennant...my brain is refusing to supply more information on the topic, however. :(

Well, I'll be getting actual disks, and then, who knows what might work its way across the Amy?

I need to see if I can get an app for my new phone. Although...sheesh, that could be dangerous.

Oh dear, I hope the repairs necessary aren't too spendy, or complicated! Gotta love cars, right up until you don't.

Yesterday's wasn't bad, except the damn thing is riding all wrong now, and Tire Place wasn't open today, so it's back to them tomorrow...

which will make four days in a row of Chinese fire drills, since Muffler Place was open today and, after proposing a converter-on-back replacement that would have exceeded the value of the truck, wound up doing a muffler-on-backectomy that blew all but about the last 10 of the over-1000 of emergency $ we had in there barely a week ago. And we still have two months before it's due for inspection, when the in-betweenies can still break.

What is the plural of FML, I wonder? FOL? FMLL? Something with superscripts? Cmon, grrl, EDIT!

Well, yeah- but considerably better than the Deep Shite we'd be in right now if we HADN'T socked that scratch aside. And having it hit almost on the button of what was there seemed, I don't know, SOME kind of karma.

Eleanor's talked about some extra $raising efforts she can do- a friend could use some bookkeeping help, and she still has a few customers from her lighting days who sometimes call. I'm going to suggest that we dedicate as much of that as we can to getting the kitty restocked.

I have all three on DVD. Give it a chance - it will grow on you.

Right at the moment, I'm contemplating buying the three seasons of Deadwood. I'm in the latter part of the second season at the moment, and it's positively Shakespearean. Profoundly profane, and definitely not suitable for children and maiden aunties whilst they sip their tea, but brilliant.
