A Head Full of Ideas that were Driving Me Insane....

For as long as I've been alive, my father worked for himself. I know exactly how unpredictable and scary it can be, and also how freeing. That's why I run a business, and have been an entrepreneur since I was 8...but also why I'm petrified of the very idea of not having an employer. :-/

In your field, yeah, there's pluses and minuses to working for a firm, and having been a clerk and a courier for years, I've got to say that I'd probably be solo if I were a lawyer. Having the partners bill my hours at three times the rate I'll ever see is...exasperating.
