I should be on an elliptical now. Dammit.
Jan. 10th, 2013 06:20 pmI'm not, because as I pushed to finish a project between 5 and 5:30, a flurry of important last-minute calls and emails blew through, and I wound up not finishing and feeding everyone until a few minutes ago- and I've got a church meeting in just under an hour. So I think I'll go after- I usually find myself in major need of endorphins after those sessions, anyway.
So instead, a quick update on some of the thingza that's been goinz on here.
The cat is much better. He's being a picky eater, but he's eating at least single servings of his preferred brand, served at room temperature, with an attractive garnish. After how worried he got us earlier in the week, I'll buy a little silver platter for the brat if I have to.
The house is gonna refinance, finally! Not without a ton of work on both our parts, though. Eleanor already posted about what she's doing: dealing with the annoying FHA appraiser's requirement that we paint a door and two windowsills going out of the back and side, respectively, of the garage. She's already made major inroads on it, and the weather, almost on cue, is cooperating for a few days so it should be doable. Meanwhile, I have to generate about 19 other documents or explanatory paragraphs about my business (including getting a CPA to write a letter certifying that I exist), payments I don't have, and people I've never heard of who are somehow showing up in my credit history. Tonight's 5-to-5:30 project put a major dent in that.
Jeopardy! went about as well as it ever has. I'm still pissed at myself for some inexcusable whiffs, including on a Shakespeare question that I just went stupid on for 14 seconds. But I had a good run in the middle, got the first and last right, and even foretold one of the eight-letter-word "questions" in my previous post about signing up to take the thing. Don't know if I made it to the sainted 35-correct level, but every other time I was sure I hadn't, so that's good. Plus, not everyone who passes gets to the next level, and it's partially based on audition city preferences; since we're one of them for the first time, that might be a good sign, too. NOT a good sign is that they could contact me next week or in eleven months, so I will have to watch the spam filters and home voicemail more religiously than I usually do.
And with that, it's off for wine, Fancy Feast and more whine.
