Images in Mostly Words
Aug. 22nd, 2010 08:32 pmThe humans here had relatively low-energy days compared to those just past and ahead. Naturally, the aminals made up for it.
Ours:
* After I got back from church (acting as liturgist for the first time- went fine- read the right Epistle lesson and didn't drop Jesus during communion), I came in here to change into comfier clothes. Both of our older cats were camped out on the bed, practically spooning. I then watched the male giving the female a head-bath for the better part of ten minutes. Michelle was in blissful heaven- until she wasn't, at which point she railed up, hissed at Taz, and chased him from the bed. I went and brought him back and, within minutes, the peaceable kingdom was restored.
* Zoey, meanwhile, got a little frisky later in the afternoon. She was trying to pick a playfight with Michelle on the edge of the dining room, but the older kitty wouldn't cooperate by standing still, and so I got to watch Zo literally hop on her back legs, three times in succession, trying to position a pounce onto her sister's back.

* Video of
firynze's bird performing a serious beatbeakdown of Das Boy:
(another vid, and a fabulous still shot of Parrot vs. Pie, is in the entry here).
* Just words, but wondrous ones, from
horizonchaser about the latest shenanigans on the part of her "pet" goose. Ben has been metaquoted in the past, and for good reason; this latest entry gives you all the more reason to want to love him.
They can't play baseball, they don't wear sweaters, they're not good dancers, they don't play drums; they also don't go to court or rip up yards on Saturdays, but boy do they earn their keep:)
