The just-resigned Erie County Attorney-

- and Scary Movie franchise star Anna Faris- 

The one on the left is hardly anywhere near the political left. For most of her almost three years as county attorney, she's been stonewalling legislators, comptrollers and even the U.S. Justice Department in their investigations into corruption, backroom deals, and, worst of all, a federal case charging civil rights violations at the county's jail and holding center. Numerous inmates have suicided at the latter, just in the past few months, and the county has spent an untold amount of taxpayer money paying outside law firms to defend them and prevent the investigations from proceeding.

Before the ink on her resignation was even dry, she'd been accepted into a midsize downtown law firm with strong Republican connections- AND she announced, barely weeks before the nominating convention, that she was running for a 14-year term for State Supreme Court justice.

Now THAT's scary.

If she were really in the running for State Supreme Court, whiff did she quit the County Attorney's job? I'd say something smells, but don't wish to disparage the hard working people who've labored to being Lake Erie back to life.
