Previously famed for making fun of, anyone?, anyone? Reagan's voo-doo economics, and for continuing to believe that Jesus rode on a dinosaur after the earth was created in 6000 BC, Ben has now turned to the current political balance of this country, and rather dislikes Obama cutting a limited deal with BP to get a commitment, before they wind up under a gagillion cheap lawsuits or a Chapter 11, to escrow 20 billion for damages:
We live in a Constitutional Republic. The President's job under the Constitution is to enforce the laws made by the elected Congress. His job is not to create new laws and enforce them all by himself. His job is as magistrate under the Constitution, not as Caudillo. He is not the law. He is supposed to enforce what Congress decides.
As I asked on
jblaque's post about this goofy issue when I read it a few moments ago: I about peed my pants laughing when I heard that. Where was this rhetoric in the last administration when Dummy Bush and Dick "You Can't Even See My Lips Move" Cheney formulated this nation's complete energy policy at the WH, without even telling anyone (anyone?), including Congress, who the participants in the sessions even were.
