I got into a rather silly thread with some Facebook friends this morning, prompted by the news that there's actually a bigscreen Marmaduke movie. This, after Garfield and Heathcliff already proved that there's an insatiable demand for such things.

Naturally, this led to other previews of coming attractions. One of them's mine; feel free to add more.

* The Katzenjammer Kids, hitting the big screen in the mid-summer of 2014

* Angelina Jolie IS.... Nancy.
   Brad Pitt IS.... Sluggo.
   A film by Martin Scorcese.

* If you only see one comic-turned-move this year it has to be ... "Henry." Rated R.

We're off this afternoon to see about prestidigitating Emily's green 2000 Focus into a red 2001 Focus:



If Tink can afford to buy the green one and we get this, Em wants to paint black spots on it and turn it into a ladybug.

The Boston Globe probably had the best awful review of the Marmaduke movie:

"When one of the last sounds you hear in a work of family entertainment is a Great Dane passing gas, there’s only one conclusion to be drawn. The movie hates your family. That’s fine, since it’s likely that your family will hate “Marmaduke,’’ a sleepy carnival of talking animals based on a laughless comic strip that debuted in 1954 and refuses to go away...
