At the bottom of an LA Times article yesterday about Roman Polanski's imminent release (into house arrest) from a Swiss prison, the comment section began, surely unintentionally, with the following words.

Is it okay for one to want, in addition to dropping a trip-hammer on Polanski, to drop an anvil on the prosecutor and a sledgehammer on the judge?

And how much of the apologizing, I wonder, is a result of the apologists having lived a cloistered existence?

Anyone's defense of Roman Polanski's actions just befuddles me. Having worked as a social worker with kids that have been conned (read DRUGGED) into sexual acts with older men, I can tell you that the damage done lasts a lifetime. He need to be UNDER a jail, not in a house.

I did go to Walmart on Black Friday, but I went a 5 p.m. when everyone went home for left over turkey.
