Yes, it's too early for Christmas music, but I suppose Friday is officially Close Enough. This is the first year I'm really conscious of the term Black Friday being universally used as the designation of the "occasion." They're even referring to it as that on Canadian radio, which is weird since they don't celebrate Thanksgiving the day before.

As with Monday-holiday weeks, which compress five days of work into four, this week's two official and semi-official "days off" result in a cramming of five workdays into three, so Ray's been busy.  I barely left my desk yesterday after getting out of that morning court appearance, and didn't get out for cardio until damn close to 5.  Today, I had a 10:30 court hearing that I expected the nervous clients to arrive at early, and so I was there before 10. It went well; there were some arguable issues about a few things, but the guy answered them completely and honestly and the trustee, who can smell BS a mile away, quickly decided he was not The Debtor He Was Looking For and moved along.

Next, I picked up my pre-race bling for the Turkey Trot, which I registered for months ago; unlike last year, when I screwed up a penultimate-week registration attempt and couldn't get in later that week, this year's was still taking registrations until almost today. I has my official stuffs-

-so I'll be setting alarms tomorrow (for one final outdoor dry run) and Thursday (to get downtown by 8 or so for the shuttle to the start) and my first more-than-5K effort.

Since I'll be killing myself with that on Thursday, I figured it wouldn't be a good idea to do a full-on leg workout the day before, so I worked that in at 4:15 this afternoon. Sally introduced me to her newest student, whose hoodie, hanging on the coatrack, displayed this on the back:

Yeah. We'll get along just fine:)

Then home for feedings- of moochy animals (who are about to meet their new cousin) and of our own selves with homemade pizzas that haven't gone up in price despite Wegmans improving their health care offerings. Die in an oven fire, Papa John:P

Tomorrow, I have an outside appointment, some paperwork to finalize, and then I am off to give thanks. There's plenty that fits that description, and I include all of you in that:)
