Sometimes you hear the bullet.

Elsig, as he was known to an appreciative audience of alt.tv.MASH fans well into this century, was the mind and the heart behind the MASH that I knew, and probably you knew. His wit, his kindness, his range of experience- all made our Monday nights special for long after he was even still involved with the show.
If you've never read Laughing Matters, his memoir of more than half a century in comedy and production, treat yourself. You will laugh, and think, and know some of your favorite MASH scenes even better than you do now.
Abbysinia, Larry.
