Good news.... and not-so-good

captainsblogOn the whole, a good night from the top on down. Gains in the US Senate, the House and our state Senate. Except for the wingiest of the wingnuts, I'm hearing voices of conciliation from the other side.

What I won't be enjoying, not much at all, is computer shopping.
My two-year-old Frankenputer got so excited by the news last night, it refused to turn itself on this morning. It eventually booted, ran fine for a few minutes, then rebooted all by itself.
A few repeats of that later, I was on the phone to my guru. He suspects it's a power supply issue (mild as these things go), but I've been living without a laptop for way too long anyway, so I think the time has come to have another working unit in my life. So, computer stores in a few minutes, an already-scheduled noontime gig, then off to Vinny's House of Horrors to, I pray, get all my data and proggies working again long enough to transfer them.
