This is why we CAN have nice things:)
Sep. 1st, 2012 08:38 pmHeaded off at ass-and-a-half o'clock to my first Saturday workout at my trainer's new place- her and her hubby's own. It's small but very functional- not as many machine-toys as either of the previous two places, but enough weight racks and range-of-motion machines to do just fine with. My main concern was with one aspect of the new place: Sally's not running "classes" as such, where we all show up at the same time, but rather she'll be there for a three-ish hour stretch three nights a week and on both weekend mornings where she will work in whoever shows up.
Not having the greatest willpower on the planet, I worried that I'd convert being "late" into being "too late" and thus wouldn't get my arse over there on time, but the previous 8-AM-with-an-alarm time turned into 8:30 without one, and it worked out fine.
Lots of friends and family came by just to wish her well on their first day, including her mom (who I'd never met before), some old friends, and two of their three Rotties, who are among the sweetest and slobberiest pups you will ever meet.
The price dropped from where it had been to use the bigger-ass places and all their toys, where she was paying $65 an hour whether one or ten people showed up for a class, and it's now unlimited classes for a month, so this should be good for both of us:)
----
From there, I broke with standard protocol and, dare I say it, shopped:) I'd double-counted some of the hundred-ish debits from my trip last month and had a few unexpectedly available shekels:
Docking station for my phone so we can stream JazzFM 91 at the patio- 20 bucks.
Much-needed new workout shorts and a stash of white socks to replace the 2010 purchase that dissolved, pretty much, simultaneously over the past month- another 20.
Parodies of too-big-to-fail-bank commercials- worthless.
----
And it's now 23 minutes to Daleks. I've seen all the Pond Life webisodes and am recording the Christmas special just to be sure the DVR is behaving (it took about half an hour to get the damn cable box to switch to BBC America). More about that after a suitable pause for SPOILERS!
