Our fiendishly brilliant recharging of the dead truck battery?

Lasted all of 48 hours.

Eleanor called from the Wegmans car park. She no can has crnk.

I brought jumper cables. They didn't help.

AAA was dispatched. Dude got it started, telling me it was testing just below starting voltage, but otherwise reading on the tester as "unstable."

Sounds about right for me.

It's home now. Blocking an altogether different corner of the driveway.
