Unintended irony
May. 28th, 2007 04:37 pmOur newspaper's website switched over to "real-time updates" several months ago. Except for the biggest of breaking stories, this generally consists of a "LATEST LOCAL NEWS" box on the top right side of the page with the headlines of stories they're working on.
I am not making up, adding or taking away a word of the contents of that box as it appears at this minute, 4:32 p.m. on Memorial Day 2007:

Sigh. I guess you don't even need to be a service man, or woman, to be sacrificed anymore. I don't mean to take an iota of respect away from the real heroes and honorees of today's occasion, but shit it's sad to see the battlefields our own city streets have become.
