Outward Bound

captainsblogAfter yesterday's staycation, I ventured forth several times today. Did my first run of the second week of the C25K thing, once again back outdoors and this time into a stiff humid breeze at 8 a.m., and lived to do it another day (although the app now costs actual money if I want to continue using it). Then court and a client visit, assorted bank and Wally World errands, and a late afternoon maildrop.
We started watching the original Clerks last night- I was surprised we didn't own it on DVD (we have the entire animated series plus Clerks II, which is what I confused with the original), but Netflix has it streaming. Probably will finish it tonight.
The last DVD we did watch was an incredibly sweet piece from the otherwise sparkly hell that is Summit Entertainment. It's called 50/50, and is an adaptation of a true story about how comic writer Will Reiser beat those very odds against a rare and deadly form of cancer. The only Twilight crossover actor is Anna Kendrick, and she is incredibly sweet and poignant in the role of a starting-out therapist helping the based-on-Will character deal with his sudden bad news.
Most of the agitas of recent days took the day off today. That was most needed and appreciated, but I fully expect encores over the next several days from at least some of those situations.
Program note for tonight: the Nurse Jackie finale is at 10. I've been a bit lost with where this season's arc has gone: Kevin was a grounding influence on all the ER crazy and Pharmacy crazier in previous years, and adding the Evil Corporate Guy and O'Hara's pregnancy haven't substituted for that for me. I'll probably get back into Episodes until Dex comes back around the Sunday after our 25th anniversary- assuming I'm not sliced to little pieces and dumped in the bay by then;)
