She's doing much better today. Both Eleanor and I can take far more of our own pain than we can witness it in others we love, so last night before I got home, and later after I did, was painful for both of us. Em had all four wisdom teeth out in the morning, and by 8 last night the combination of pain, swelling, blood, Lortab and rumbly-tummy was making her a big ball of mizzable.  I held down the living room floor next to her for awhile until she seemed settled for the evening, and she then stayed down until (she thinks) around 4 a.m.  That was her last dose of the heavy medication; by the time we were both up around 8, she felt a lot better and has been trying to stick to just Ibuprofen. She and Mom went out on a Wegman run earlier, and while her diet is still pretty squishy, it's also more or less moving in only one direction, and that's an improvement.

Meanwhile, I've given up on getting away with benign neglect of the dumbass thing I did to my ear canal over the weekend. It's gotten no worse, but neither is it gone, so I have an ENT appointment on Wednesday morning. Maybe I'll even use this as a springboard to finding out if there's anything new or exciting I can have done to improve my 40 years of near-deafness in the other ear.

As for the rest of the world, not much in need of cutting. Eleanor's laptop is still on the operating table; we got rid of one, but not both, of the charges from Sears for not fixing our dishwasher; and the animals are all in major spring fever mode this afternoon.

As for the Chinese spammer who's been dive-bombing my entries with a gazillion comments?

Tiu nia ma chow hai.

And an hour from now, do it again.

I'm glad you're going to get your ear checked out! Better safe than sorry. And I'm glad Em is feeling better after her dental surgery. I vividly recall having mine out and how tremendously sucky and disgusting it was.

Tell Em not to skimp on whatever heat and cold therapy they told her to do after the extractions, because she may feel way better today but much more swollen and tender again tomorrow or the next day if she hasn't been treating the swelling. My surgeon's office recommended alternating heat and cold, but the advice may be different nowadays, maybe just periodic heat therapy. Whatever it is, it's a good idea to keep it up.

LOL please tell me how to persuade my father to do anything about the half-deafness in both his ears because he thinks all he needs to do is get the TV volume real loud, and it's our problem that we can't stand it.
