this sailor SHOULD have taken warning. Even though the day started out pretty well, I just had to write it off by the end, knowing that in this life, you're gonna get a stinker once in a while.  This is one in serious need of a courtesy flush.

After seeing the red sky, and the goose who practically walked up to my car to shit on it on the way to the parp with the dog-

- we had a pretty nice time. We're not doing dog park or trails these days because our dogbud Ursula, past 14 years old now,  pretty much doesn't want to do anything other than walk in circles, poop in her mommy's car, and take in the sight of her Queendom:

But Pepper still got to run around like a crazy person for close to an hour, leash law be damned, and was ready to resume the driving lessons she started with the Golden from the Subie commercial when the time came to leave:

That's when the toidy started to stink.

While she and I were out, and even before we were up,  Eleanor made major progress this morning at grouting all the new tile she'd installed in the bathroom. But by day's end, I was making some progress scraping it all out. Yup, looks like Home Despot sold her a bad batch that had been opened and returned. She went back with the bag, trying to get at least some recompense for a long day ruined. They ultimately credited her back for the bag, but wouldn't no-charge a replacement, because they claimed (and they may be right) that there was nothing wrong with the batch they sold her. On further review, Eleanor thinks the problem might have been with grout she mixed in from the LAST reno five years ago. Still, they never offered a hint of apology or empathy. She got the replacement bag at Lowes, one shopping plaza over on the Boulevard. It was a return to the scene of my own stupid from earlier.

I tried to take some load off of her by doing the outside errands of Target, Wegmans, lunch and wine runs.  I lost my phone at Stop #1, discovered it missing only on arrival at #2 (smelling a theme here:P), doubled back to no avail, came home with her sushi, Found My Phone was still on Tarjay property, and finally got it back on my third trip there, helpfully using Lowes wifi to triangulate- the same Lowes she wound up resorting to later in the day.

On those multiple drives, I passed a sign I'd been planning to snark on, and in hindsight I should have tried to take the pic of it, because that would have revealed my missing phone much sooner.  So on the final drive, I did capture it:

We last renewed passports in 2014, but I do vaguely remember them being pretty picky, and I wouldn't want to trust the photos to someone who kent speil.

Once home, when I wasn't scraping tiles, I was working on bookkeeping type things, and I couldn't figure out what happened to a class I booked for later this week. Well, that would be because I booked it for 10:30 this morning and completely forgot- which I NEVER do, being too dedicated (read: cheap) to waste a class I've paid for.

And the Mets. Don't get me started on THEM. The radio guys were reduced to cracking jokes about Beverly Hillbillies episodes on TBS back in the day.

Let's see what tomorrow brings. But remember, dear reader- you're still #1 with us. Or, at worst, #2.
