A few things to supplement other things of late:

* My sister, who apparently still do math even when I can't, called me over the weekend to correct my inaccurate calculation of Mom lasting 15 years in our childhood home after Dad died. It was just over five. The record has been corrected.

*  In noting the arrival of the invoice for our deceased Evil Cat the other day, I neglected to mention that the dog chose to try honoring Evil Cat's memory on that morning's walk by picking up a dead crow. I got it away from her before it became her own cause of DEATH.

* At least one friend from here in Noo Yawk has announced that he will stand up for Georgia voter rights if the U.S. Congress,  and the more important Coca-Cola company, fail to reverse the deprivation of food and bottled water to the Peachtree State electorate. Andy's ready to show up on Election Day in the 404 and get his ass arrested just like a 1960s Freedom Rider. I told him I'm in, too; those Bull Connor doggies are just wusses if you offer one of them a belly rub.

* Speaking of dogs, we had short walkies today. It was raining and cold, and Ursula didn't get past the first garbage can on the trail, but her mommy insisted that the rest of us plow on without her. That led to the following:

      - Aren't you glad you came out this early to have a bunch of women telling you what to do, Ray?

       - Meh, I have a workout scheduled in an hour, where I pay to have a woman tell me what to do.   Or I can blow if off and pay anyway NOT to have a woman tell me what to do. See, it's a choice!

I chose to go to it. It went okay.

* Commentary on the week's news, which probably only the locals exposed to numerous ambulance chaser commercials will get:

* And finally, today's Mets-ish jokes. First, my reply to this:

That pun's so bad, I'm sending an F-1 fighter jet to Florida to pick up Jacob deGrom, so he can hurl 99 mph fastballs into your house from 30,000 feet. Because what's a Met-a-for?

Followed this afternoon by the joke on me- this Tweet, referencing the team's new owner and the best new player they acquired over the winter:

I can't be the only one who read that at first as saying that Cohen and Lindor "died last night in Florida," can I? The curses on this team going into my 55th year following them? That's as plausible an outcome as a night out at Red Lobster:P
