Overall, LJ's been behaving reasonably well lately. No massive downtimes, the comment-spam mischief seems to be better managed, and I've picked up some new and interesting friends to read recently.
Oh, but as Columbo always said, there's just one thing.
I cannot seem to stay logged in to save my life. On my main computer, it's less of a problem; until recently, it seemed that LJ would toss its cookie about once a day, requiring a re-login (and, until I presume some Paid member complained about it, flashing an ad on the re-login screen) and then forcing you to their infamous "go have fun" page. The past few days, I've been doing that drill more like once every hour. It's a two-click solution every time, but those clicks add up over the course of a week and it's distracting as hell.
Worse than that, though, is that I cannot log into LJ through Safari on my phone at all. It's getting to be a major issue, on days like yesterday when I was away for most of the day and Eleanor, home posting, was putting up all kinds of details. I get the login page, it gives the "go have fun" page, but then instantly forgets everything so I can't see anything Eleanor (or anyone else) is posting friends-only. It might go back to when I got the new phone, but it restored everything else from the previous backup, and my login credentials are there- I can see them, and they work, at least long enough to succeed at login- but then they just seem to die on me.
I do have the LJ app on the phone, but it's wonky, too- when it does display entries, it messes up text coding, so that a single italics or strike code will carry over to the entire remainder of the entry, and I couldn't see any of Eleanor's recent entries through it, either.
The only place I don't seem to have problems is on the tablet. Godot II remembers its cookies (or whatever Android calls them) and the Android app seems to post and display just fine. But it's useless without wireless, and that's becoming harder to find as hot spots are increasingly securing up.
Nothing about this on lj_news or maintenance. Can anyone write a nice bug report for me in Russian?

Number 206 Looks Just Like You!
Jun. 29th, 2012 09:38 pmI have a packet. A map. A number. Even a stinkin' t-shirt. And 12 hours from now, I'll be done and probably pigging out on pancakes.
No training today, not that I wound up with time to do any. Between making good on previous business threats, dealing with much agitas from a not-quite-relative, and dropping over $500 on two different car repairs, I barely made it out the door in time to meet my race bud bluekilverkdg outside the fieldhouse at the Ralph. We'll be back there in a bit over nine hours, then likely heading to the American Falls while Eleanor finishes her workday. Sunday's for church for all of us, then lunch with another friend Jenn before everybody returns home to their lives.
Kimmy's been up since 2:30 this morning and spent close to 12 hours on the road, discovering the same joys of driving through WV and PA that I did making the reverse trip this weekend last year. It is so good to see her, though, and we got to say in person what I refused to say short of that a mere day ago:
