Because that's what the late mayor Jimmy Griffin told us to do:

It's, well, cold. Near-recordy in that department. Hard to tell how much snow we've gotten here on account of all the blowing around it's been doing, but we're north of the dividing line and are in the 1-3 inch official measurement area.  Once you go about five miles south of here, or a bit less to the east, those inches quickly turn into feet, and driving bans are the order of the day.

It's also quiet, as all schools and most businesses (including the courts) are closed here.  I doubt I'll get many responses to any of the various irons I've had in the legal fire during this, so I'm trying to get ahead on a few things and, in between, have been doing some Sherlocking. "Sign of Three" was amazing fun, on so many levels, and unlike the first one it's essentially a standalone ep that doesn't require intricate recollection of all the machinations of the previous season's ending.  I've also got Elementary queued- both the DVD which will get here from Netflix someday, and the pilot on cbs.com.

Eleanor left before 8 this morning, as she did yesterday when it was about 40F degreees warmer. Wegmans was of course Chicken Little Central yesterday, even though our part of town was spared the worst of the snowfall.  She's supposed to be in pricing all day today in support of a major "reset" of the entire store, but I fully expect she'll be dragged out to cash for a better part of the time.

Ebony's still a little groggy, but she's eaten some and is tolerating the Cone of Shame quite nicely.

The worst of this blizzard is expected to be past by tonight. Good thing, since tomorrow's a travel day to Rochester and, probably, even a bit east of there before the end of the day.

Warms and safes to all.
