Quick Report on the Patient
Jan. 6th, 2014 05:54 pmEbony had her surgery today to remove a mass that's been getting gradually bigger for years. She had to go without food this morning, but was a total sweetheart about it and didn't even complain too much about the ride to the vet. (The car complained far more because she insisted on sitting in the front passenger seat and she kept setting off Kermit's seat belt sensor.)
By late morning, word came she was in recovery and all had gone well. They set 4:30 as her checkout time, and that worked out perfectly, as the weather was just starting to turn nastier around then. She'll be on an anti-inflammatory for several days and will be rocking the Cone of Shame for most, if not all, of the next two weeks while the stitches are in. She seems sluggish, but as I described things to a Facey audience earlier:
They called. Did fine, still groggy, can go home at the end of the day. Wait- that's me. Ebony did great, too:)
Feeding time at the zoo now. I will be pleased as anything to put out four bowls now rather than this morning's three:)
